Hosting Fees

All website owners must pay hosting fees. Hosting provides a home base for your website so that the data is readily available to be viewed on the internet. If you think about it this way, a Hosting Agency is like the Government, your Website is like your Home Property and the Hosting Fees are like your Council Rates.

Different fees apply to different websites, you can see what the costs are when you choose a plan.

Self vs We Manage

If you choose to manage your own website, i.e., you update info (copy) and imagery (we'll give you basic instruction on how to do this), then there is no additional cost.

If you would like us to manage any updates or changes you can pay a monthly fee, this covers up to 2-hours of work per month. Note, additional costs apply if you want to add more pages or completely change your website.

Try before Buy?

Sorry this is not an option. It takes a lot of time to build a website, aside from the copy and images, there's also a lot going on in the background of a well-built website. Primarily, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), this is where we make your website "pretty" on the inside to gain Google's attention, this is so very important.

Therefore, you are paying for our time to get this up and running for you, as well as all the technical things our IT guys do to initiate going live. 

Domain Names

What is a Domain Name? It's essentially the name of your website: www.your-domain-name.co.nz or .com or .nz or any suffix. 

There is a cost to retain your domain name + suffix, roughly between $60 to $70 + GST per year.

If you do not have a Domain Name, we can research this for you and offer suggestions given what's available.

Logos

You do not need a Logo for your website, if you would like to display one however, it will need to be a good quality JPEG, GIF, PNG, PDF or Graphic File, typically AI.

If you would like us to design a custom Logo, we can do so and provide high quality files for you to use as you please and of course display it on your website if you wish.

Old website transfers

If you already have a website and would like to upgrade to one of our websites, we can transfer copy / imagery / layouts from your old website. Variations in cost may apply depending on requirements.

Note, not all websites can be transferred.

Copy & Imagery

Depending on the chosen plan, you will need to produce content, that is copy (wording) & images for your website.

We should be able to provide some copy and stock imagery that will align with your company, organisation or brand.

If you are supplying imagery, we ideally need good quality JPEGs. We are happy to optimise some images where possible, variations in pricing may apply for multiple images. Both copy & imagery are very important for the "health" of your website. For more on this, read our FAQs about SEO.

SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is a term coined by Google. Basically you want to optimise your website for Google searches. That means using keywords that potential customers or "Googlers," will type in the Google search engine to find you. Keywords added in the correct manner will result in the best outcome for your website ranking on Google.

Ultimately, the better your SEO, the better Google will like you and show your website to people without the need for advertising. The more people visiting your website, the more Google likes you, the more it will show your website to people. 

Google Advertising

Should I advertise on Google? If you are confident your website will be accessed regularly then advertising is probably not a necessity.

SEO is so important for your website, however, it may take weeks, possibly months for your new website to appear in Google searches. If you want to be seen almost instantly, then Google advertising is your best option.

We charge a fee to set this up for you, and Google then charges you each time your Ad is clicked on, this could be anywhere between $0.25 to $5.00 per click, it will vary depending on your industry.
